Different Walks of Life, Inc. Launches 2026 Back-to-School Book Bag Drive

Charles City, VA – July 2026 — Different Walks of Life, Inc. (DWOL) is proud to announce the launch of its 2026 Back-to-School Book Bag Drive, an initiative designed to help students begin the new school year with the tools they need to succeed.

The organization is collecting new book bags for students in Charles City, Greensville, and Sussex Counties for the 2026–2027 school year. Every donated backpack will be filled with essential school supplies by Different Walks of Life, Inc. before being distributed to students and families in need throughout the three communities.

"Our goal is simple—remove barriers to learning and help every child walk into the classroom prepared and confident," said L. Davon Jones, Founder and President of Different Walks of Life, Inc. "A backpack may seem like a small gift, but for many families it represents hope, encouragement, and a fresh start to the school year."

While the organization's primary focus is collecting new backpacks, donations of school supplies are also welcomed to help stock each bag with classroom essentials.

How You Can Help

Community members, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and community partners are encouraged to support the drive by donating one or more new backpacks.

Donation Deadline: Friday, July 31, 2026
