Different Walks of Life, Inc. has announced a community fundraising initiative to assist with funeral and burial expenses for Rev. Montey F. Cotman, Sr., a respected faith leader, truck driver, and servant of the community who passed away on March 9, 2026.
Rev. Cotman faithfully served as Associate Pastor and Chairman of the Trustee Board at Little Elam Baptist Church, where he dedicated many years to ministry, mentorship, and service. Known for his compassion, leadership, and commitment to helping others, Rev. Cotman impacted countless lives within the church and throughout the surrounding community.
In addition to his ministry, Rev. Cotman was a dedicated truck driver, working diligently to provide for his family and support those around him. His life reflected a spirit of hard work, faith, and service that extended far beyond the walls of the church.
In response to this loss, Different Walks of Life, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals and families facing life’s challenges, has organized a fundraising campaign to help alleviate the financial burden associated with funeral and burial arrangements.
“All funds raised through this initiative will go directly toward funeral and burial expenses,” said L. Davon Jones, President and Founder of Different Walks of Life, Inc. “Our goal is to come together as a community to support the Cotman family during this difficult time and honor the life and legacy of Rev. Cotman.”
Community members, friends, and supporters are encouraged to contribute and share the campaign to help provide comfort and support to the family during this time of loss.
Funeral services for Rev. Montey F. Cotman, Sr. will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Little Elam Baptist Church, with a viewing scheduled two hours prior to the service.
